Very sad to read of Jim's passing. I knew him from Hoover Elementary and John Adams JH since our dads were snowmobile buddies.

Jim went to North Carolina through IBM for two years (6th and 7th grade I think?) and came back with a southern accent and a love of NASCAR and Southern Rock  which is how I first learned of Lynyrd Skynyrd, Molly Hatchet, and Atlanta Rhythm Section. I often think of him whenever I hear any of those bands.

Jim ran for student council in 8th grade and asked me to be his campaign manager. Let's just say I was not James Carville. laugh

Jim would invite me over to make enough numbers to play street hockey in his cul-de-sac.  Many years later at JM his neighbor Dan Green invited me and Drew Hagquist to join his intramural floor hockey team since he misremembered me as being good at street hockey.  Sorry Dan!

RIP Jim -- I will raise a beer to toast your memory.
